Cíle předmětu
Learning outcomes of the course unit: The aim of the course is to build the knowledge base in the field of management and balanced leadership from a relatively wide point of view so that the student is well equipped for the subsequent - more specialized - subjects of the studied field.
Výstupy z učení
After successful completion of the course, the student:

Understands the basic concepts and principles of management (defines management, understands its importance and historical development.

Identifies key representatives and directions of managerial thinking).

Analytically assess the individual functions of management (explain and apply the processes of planning, organizing, leading, motivating, decision-making, communication and control in organizational practice).

It will assess the role and typology of managers (it will characterize the manager's personality and managerial styles, evaluate their suitability in different situations. Develops and applies a personal development plan in the field of leadership and self-management. Understands the principles of balanced leadership and self-management, can create a plan for personal professional growth).

Analyses the need for change management and crisis management (explains the procedures for managing change in the organization, identifies risks and principles of crisis management).). Interprets the principles of corporate social responsibility (CSR), ESG and business ethics (evaluates the impact of sustainability, ethical conduct and ESG reporting on organizational management).

He/she will distinguish between process and project management and apply their basic principles (he/she will explain the differences between the process and project approach to the management of organizations).

They will understand the importance of innovation and risk management in connection with the competitiveness of the company (they will define innovation, lean management and describe the application of the Innovation Management Model).).

They will gain an overview of the possibilities of using digitization, automation, robotization and artificial intelligence in management (they will analyze the potential of new technologies within the concept of Society 4.0 and their impact on management efficiency).).

Výukové metody
Lectures will usually include a lecture (theory, new knowledge including practical examples) and a practical part (case study). Part of the lecture can be filled with self-assessment questionnaires, discussion on the topic, group work, etc. It will include the assignment of home preparation tasks for the next lesson. The exercises will be focused on learning to learn through their own judgment, based on economic and critical thinking oriented towards entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship, creativity, creativity, presentation and communication, active attitude to the world, open access to new forms of management. Emphasis will be placed not on accurate thinking based on verified qualitative and quantitative data, on the ability to work with information, with trend information and presentation systems. Management will be presented on a scientific basis as a sequence of interconnected projects and processes.
Combined study will take place in the form of a controlled consultation where, in addition to a condensed presentation of the topic, a previous self-study is also expected to allow for subsequent consultation.
Distance form of study will take place in the form of tutorials, ongoing consultations and elaboration of ongoing tasks, tests.
Metody hodnocení
Written, oral.

Continuous evaluation of creative activities and case studies within the exercises.

Final assessment – oral exam, discussion of exam work proposals.

A full-time student is obliged to meet the mandatory 70% attendance at face-to-face teaching, i.e. everything except lectures. If the attendance is not met, the student will work on "non-attendance homework" according to the instructor's assignment and upload them to the Homework Vault. /but only in specific cases upon special agreement with teacher/

There are no prerequisites for this course, however, mastering the basics of business environment and the business relations are expected. In both full and part-time study forms each topic will be mostly presented (in detailed or condensed form – according to the type of study) in PPT presentations, followed by an interactive discussion. Presentation materials used within lecture will be available for students of the course in IS (file of the course).
