Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The student will be able to use advanced tools of MS PowerPoint, including template of slides, animations, sounds. Use macros, analysis tools and the Solver module in MS Excel when creating, editing and managing tables. They will get acquainted with MS Access.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be able to:
Create a PowerPoint presentation, including animations and sound.
Insert data and perform calculations using MS Excel functions, format tables in MS Excel, use analytical tools.
Work with MS Access.
Syllabus
  • 1. MS PowerPoint - Working with a template, presentation template.
  • 2. MS PowerPoint - Animation settings, audio and video insertion.
  • 3. MS PowerPoint - Setting transitions between slides, automatic playback of the presentation.
  • 4. MS PowerPoint - Creating a complex presentation.
  • 5. MS Excel - Forms.
  • 6. MS Excel - Simple macros, macro recording.
  • 7. Basics of Visual Basic - Editing a recorded macro.
  • 8. MS Excel - Analytical tools, solution search, scenario manager.
  • 9. MS Excel - Solver.
  • 10. MS Access - Loading external data into DB, editing DB.
  • 11. MS Access - Working with views, creating simple filters.
  • 12. MS Access - Creating a form for entering data, creating a print report.

Teaching methods
Full-time study. Required participation is 75 %. Students who do not attend mandatory number of seminars may be given by additional study requirements.
Part-time study: compulsory tutorial participation is 50 %, the possible absence can be compensate by personal consultation.
Students with ISP have the same duties. Compulsory attendance is not required.The teacher verifies the authenticity of the submitted tasks.
Assessment methods
The course is completed with a credit.
Full-time study: Credit awarded after submission of all assignments processed in seminars, in case of absence or online teaching, missing assignments will be processed at home. Part-time study: Credit awarded after submission of all assignments processed in seminars, in case of absence or online teaching, missing assignments will be processed at home.
