- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- The aim of the course, which is the same for both forms of study, provides students with a correspondingly high level of professional knowledge, which is based on a range of selected issues according to individual parts of the Criminal Code and the Criminal Procedure Code. The lecture series, in which the emphasis will be on the relevant case law and findings from criminal law practice, will be divided into several thematic areas. From substantive criminal law, in connection with the basics of criminal liability, an interpretation of each of the individual titles of a special part of the Criminal Code will always be presented. Furthermore, it will be the issue of criminal liability of legal persons, criminal liability of juveniles, the relationship between criminal law and public administration, international judicial cooperation. From criminal procedural law, these will be selected chapters connected not only with the course of the entire criminal proceedings, but also with the enforcement proceedings. After completing the entire course, students should be able to understand to a substantial extent the method of application of substantive and procedural criminal law, their mutual and joint action in the specific solution of criminal matters. Thus, as regulated by Acts No. 40/2009, No. 418/2011 Coll., No. 218/2003 Coll. and No. 141/1961 Coll. as amended. They will also learn to work with relevant professional literature and case law.

- Teaching methods
- Lectures and exercises in full-controlled group consultations in combined form; minimum mandatory attendance at seminars / workshops in full-time study is 75%, on a controlled group consultations in combination with another 50%.
- Assessment methods
- The course is concluded by credit and an oral exam. The criterion for granting credit is seminar paper on a given topic (minimum 50% points) and passing a written test consisting of 30 questions (minimum 50% points). The criterion for an oral exam is successfully answering one of the 15 test questions.
