Course objectives
At the end of the course students should be able to understand and explain the characteristics of contemporary methods of public management, administrative reforms to benefit   applications management approaches in public administration, systems development and management in the public   private sector, the existing methods of management of public administration,personnel management and staff training in public administration.
Syllabus
1. Management main elements and approaches 2.Key stages of management approaches development and main managemnt schools representatives 3. Principal differences between management in the private and the public sectors 4. Managers personalities specific features and decisive types of managers behavior 5. Systems of European countries public management execution - from the management approaches application preconditions 6. European public administration reforms contribution to management approaches utilization 7. New Public Management conception strength and weakness, OECD positions to NPM conception apllcation 8. Conception governance 9. Modern personal management principles 10. Contribution of elected representatives and public administration staff to ways of public administration management 11. Knowledge of management approaches implementation in contemporary Federal Republic of Germany and French Republic execution 12. Management approaches implementation in the United Kingdom of Great Britain anfd Northern Ireland public administation execution 12.

Teaching methods
Lectures and seminars in full-time study; tutorials in part-time study; compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study, compulsory tutorial participation is 50% in part-time study.
Assessment methods
The course is completed with a credit and verbal exam. A specific written study (50% points min) and 30 written test questions (50% points min) is required to award the credit. Answer one of the 15 topic questions correctly is required to pass the exam.
