- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives
- The main goal of the course is to teach students the basic principles, processes and methods of programming and projecting in public administration and regional development and project management. Students will acquire basic concepts, project tools, the technical and procedural side of project processing and the basics of project management. The student will gain a clear idea of the logic of project management, the structure of projects, specific applications (within EU Structural Funds) and successful project team management.
- Learning outcomes
- Students will acquire the ability of project thinking, they will be able to systematically analyze a problem in a wider context, they will learn to use basic tools and methods of project planning and processing. They will acquire skills for the creation of a project plan and the implementation of a given project. They will also acquire the basic skills to participate in a project team. They will be able to independently manage less complex projects, or be a qualified member of the project team. They will learn the basics of creating programs.

- 1. Basics of planning in public administration and regional development and project management. 2. Project management methods and their use (IPMA, PRINCE2, PMA). 3. Processes of each project. Project life cycle (preparation, implementation, termination). 4. Basic methods and tools of project management - SWOT analysis, Risk analysis, etc. 5. Creation of logical framework matrix. Project target groups, interested parties. 6. Competence of the project manager and composition of the project team. 7. Public contracts – the role of the supplier and the contracting authority. 8. Budget preparation and cash flow monitoring, project milestones. 9. Project documentation. Project control procedures 10. Realization (implementation) of project works. 11. Project Resources. European Union funds and their challenges. 12. Basics of creating program documents, their requirements.
