Passing the subjects at the bachelor level at the VSFS or at similar study: Management Information systems B_MIS, Design of information systems 1 B_PIS_1, Design of information systems 2 B_PIS_2.

Course objectives
The aim is systematic explication of selected problems and complexes of strategy and management of information systems, to discuss them and to have active control of subject by means of elaborating of case study.
Syllabus
  • 1. Business strategy
  • 2. The sense of strategy and management of IS/ICT at the business level and the need of their permanent innovation
  • 3. Conceptual model of informační strategie (IST), structure of IST and the procedure of creation IST
  • 4. Model SPSPR
  • 5.The sense of strategy and management of IS/ICT at the macro-level (the level of the state and the global level)
  • 6. Risks of designing and implementing IS/ICT – 1st part: Introduction to risk analysis (RA) and to risk managementu (RM)
  • 7. Risks of designing and implementing IS/ICT – 2nd part: Advanced methods of RA and RM
  • 8. Risks of designing and implementing IS/ICT – 3rd part: Applications of RA and RM in most important phases of designing and implementing of IS/ICT
  • 9. Risks of designing and implementing IS/ICT – 4th part: Applications of RA and RM in project management of IS.
  • 10. Management of effects and costs in business IT – 1st part: Costs analysis in business IT, analysis of benefits and costs of IT services.
  • 11. Management of effects and costs in business IT – 2nd part: Capital budgeting models in business IT – ROI (the accounting rate on investments), the payback method, WACC (waighted average costs of capital)
  • 12. Management of effects and costs in business IT – 3rd part: Capital budgeting models in business IT – net present value (NPV) method , internaql rate of return (IRR) method

Teaching methods
Lectures and seminars in full-time study.
Tutorials in part-time study,
Minimal required participation is 75% on seminars in full-time study and 50% on tutorials in part-time study. Students with lower than required participation have to fulfill additional study duties.
Assessment methods
The subject ends with assessment and examination.
Examination consists of written test.
Student is succesfull if his test is assesed by minimal 65 points of maximum 100.
