Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The objective of the intensive two-term Czech language course is the acquisition of communicative skills on the level A2/B1. This means understanding lectures held in the Czech language, ability to write notes, ability to read a specialized text with understanding, to express in both oral and written form. The objective of the course is also to achieve comparable levels of language with a group of more advanced students so that they can continue in the same subject (Czech language for foreigners B) in the second year.
Learning outcomes
After completion of the first semester, a student will acquire correct pronunciation and intonation, basic professional terminology (microeconomics); he/she will enhance professional and common vocabulary, he/she will understand direct spoken communication, improve speaking and writing skills; he/she will manage to compile a presentation in Czech language and consolidate grammar structures.
Syllabus
  • The syllabus is designed for both full-time and combined study: 1-3 RECORDING, SCHOOL - STUDY, COMMUNICATION - E-MAIL intonation and accent in Czech, verbs: present and future time 4-6 ECONOMY - formulation of answers to a specialist topic, synonymous expression KAREL ČAPEK, WEDDINGS AND FEETS, NATIONS verbs: past time and conditional, nominative plural 7-9 ECONOMIC ORGANIZATION - Clarification of basic concepts FAMILY, WEDDING AND RELIGIOUS RELATIONSHIPS conditional and explanatory sentences, reflexive verbs, couplings 10-12 TRH - compound words, which - which, the formation of nouns CARE ON CHILDREN, CZECH FILM accusative, writing practice 13-15 SPORT AND LIFE STYLE FREE TIME ACTIVITIES positive and negative imperative, verbs of motion, direct and indirect speech 16-18 MARKING MECHANISM - Creating verbs from adjectives OTA PAVEL, FRONT CZECH SPORTS genitive singular and plural, prepositions with genitive, verbs with genitive 19-21 CLOTHING AND FASHION
