Course Enrolment Limitations
The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The objective of the course is the same for both forms of study. The student should acquire the ability to understand the meaning of the basic concepts of penal law, in particular the notion of crime, the object and the objective side of crime, the body and the subjective side of crime, the issue of complicity, participation or concurrence of offenses, as well as the principles of saving and types of penalties. He should be able to apply the acquired knowledge in the field of interpretation of simple penal cases. He should as well gain a basic orientation in criminal proceedings aimed at revealing committed crimes and their offenders.He is able to competently prepare programs for the prevention of crime in the area of their employment status.
Learning outcomes
Basic theoretical knowledge, orientation in problems and context of monitored topics. At the same time, the practical skills and skills of applying the acquired knowledge in a real environment of professional activities. The learning outcomes are the support and development of the profile of the educated practitioner.
Syllabus
  • Content of lectures: General interpretation, concept and sources of criminal law, its basic principles, the scope of criminal laws. 2. Criminal offense - concept, characteristics, bipartite crime, multiple crimes, continuing crime, collective, lasting 3. The nature of the offense, the basis of criminal liability, insanity and fault in criminal law 4. Development stages of crime, forms of criminal co-operation, participation 5. Misconduct in criminal law and its meaning, circumstances excluding illegality, extinction of punishment and punishment. Criminal law in the European context. 6. Nature and seriousness of the offense, overlapping of criminal offenses, criminal sanctions, attenuating and aggravating circumstances. 7. The concept and purpose of the sentence. Individual types of sentences and protective measures. 8. Principles of the imposition of penalties and protective measures, mitigating and aggravating circumstances. Penalty Penalties - Penalties for Adults. 9. Safeguarding. Termination of criminal sanctions and the extinction of their legal consequences. Total and aggregate punishment. Suspension of conviction. 10. General sanctioning of legal persons and juveniles. Punishment of juveniles, punishment of legal persons. Criminal liability of legal persons, criminal liability of juveniles 11. Special part of the Criminal Code - selected facts of criminal offenses and offenses. 12. Special part of the Criminal Code - selected facts of criminal offenses and offenses. Interpretative provisions, § 110 - 139 of the CC. Probation and Mediation Service.

Teaching methods
Full-time study consists of lectures and seminars, part-time study of tutorials; compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study, compulsory tutorial participation is 50% in part-time study.
Assessment methods
The course is completed, on the one hand by a credit, which is awarded in PS for a paper incl. presentation during the seminar in about 30 minutes, on the other hand by an oral exam at the end of the semester. Elaboration of the paper is awarded by 70%, its presentation during the seminar by 30%.
