Course objectives
The course aims to introduce students to the fundamental areas and topics of audiovisuality. It will provide an overview of history, theoretical and methodological concepts and approaches to audiovisual culture and its perception and interpretation.
Learning outcomes
The course will explore historical and contextual connections of various audiovisual elements. The theoretical foundation of the course will be complemented by visual and critical analysis, including practical examples and exercises.

The modern era and the beginnings of audiovisual inventions. 5. The industrial revolution and the visuality of modernity. 6. Photography and the cultural revolution 7. Cinematography and the birth of modern audiovisual media 8. Television culture 9. The digitization of audiovisual culture: the 1990s and the turn of the millennium 10.
