The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
The aim of this course is that the student has acquired the basic knowledge and capable in the field of communication and specifically for public presentation. Student who successfully complete the course will: 1. Know the basics of communication theory, processes, phases and content. 2. Understand the specific patterns of public speaking. 3. Learn the basic rules of successful presentations. 4. Be able to perform a quality presentation before an audience (class). 5. Learn to manage stage fright and public speaking anxiety during the presentation.
Learning outcomes
Students should be able to understand and be able to use the basic rules of public presentations, whether product or service, or themselves as a person (admission interview, etc.). The main acquired skills are voice modulation, non-verbal communication (body language) and the ability to work with emotions (manage their own emotions and to communicate their own emotions and understand others). The absolvents of this course should be able to cope with the stage fright, public attention and Q&A, especially during a public presentation.

  • Contents of lectures: 1. Communication in today's society 2. Public presentations as a mean of persuation - verbal and nonverbal communication 3. Kinds and types of presentations 4. The content and process of communication 5. Preparation, conduct and evaluation of public speaking 6. Psychological and sociological aspects of public speaking 7. Negative aspects of presentation - stage fright, questions 8. Presentation - Company profile, products and services 9. Communication rules in team presentations 10. Possibilities of using technology in presentation 11. Active presentation - practice 12. Evaluation of the practical part of the course

Assessment methods: credit 1. Participation in seminars - 75% PS / 50% CA 2. Creation and presentation of various presentations, demonstrating the acquired skills and knowledge. 3. Active participation in class.
