Course objectives

Learning outcomes of the course unit The aim of the course is to build the foundation of knowledge in the field of management and balanced leadership from a relatively wide perspective so that the listener is well equipped for subsequent - already more specialized - subjects of the field of study.

Learning outcomes

After completing this course, the student will have the following professional knowledge. He will be able to: define, recognize and understand the nature and meaning of management, to introduce the concept of management from the perspective of management science in its developmental stages, Explain and justify why management is needed for all kinds of organizations clarify why management requires a system approach, specify management functions / processes, define the advantages and disadvantages of individual organizational structures, define the reason for change management and approaches to change management based on the variability of economic reality, explain the benefits of the CRM approach and philosophy, explain the continuity of the concept of sustainable development and corporate social responsibility, the importance of observing ethics in the business environment, explain the difference between process and project management, explain the concept of innovation in connection with the competitiveness of the company, be able to describe specific corporate activities and activities within the model of innovation management, lean business trend, to understand the principles of development and balance in leadership, Develop a Personal Development Plan to improve basic managerial skills. During the lessons, students will acquire the following professional skills. He will be able to: work with information sources, analyze the data obtained and on the basis of that set goals for individual managerial activities, to develop a timeline of development stages of management, find good practice examples, the benefits of successful managers for organizational development, propose an effective organizational structure for a particular company, find 3 CRM software, define their advantage, introduce the principles of CSR, propose a project to implement CSR at the VŠFS, specify the term Industry 4.0 and its impacts on individual business units, Perform self-assessment of management skills - such as delegation skills record in the personal development plan one area where the student wants to improve. Develop a timeline of work on self improvement, draw up a plan for effective consultation.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR), ethics in business. 8.Project and process management. 9.Innovation, innovation management, innovation activity. 10. Manufacturing and logistics processes in business - digitization, automation, robotics, intelligent factory. 11.Development of managerial skills - time management, active listening, dialogue, delegation and feedback. 12.Basic principles of balanced leadership, management styles, self-management. Personal development plan.

Teaching methods

Lectures will usually contain a lecture part (theory, new knowledge including practical examples) and a practical part (case study). Part of the lecture may be completion of self-evaluation questionnaires, discussion on a given topic, group work, etc. Part of the assignment for home preparation for the following lessons. Exercises will be practically focused on gaining knowledge through their own judgments, based on economic and critical thinking focused on entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship, creativity, creativity, ability to present and communicate, active approach to the world, open access to new forms of management. Emphasis will be placed on non-exact thinking based on proven qualitative and quantitative data, on the ability to work with information, with trendy information and presentation systems. Management will be presented on a scientific basis as a sequence of interconnected projects and processes. The combined study will take the form of a guided consultation, where, in addition to the condensed presentation of the topic, previous self-study is also expected to allow for subsequent consultation.

Assessment methods

Předmět je zakončen ZÁPOČTEM a ZKOUŠKOU (5 kreditů). Prezenční studium: Udělení zápočtu je vázáno na splnění povinnosti aktivní docházky min. 75 % (tj. nejen pouhá prezence, ale aktivní podílení se na průběhu výuky, diskutování, interakce, argumentace), plnění úkolů domácí přípravy. ZÁPOČET: Vypracování zápočtové práce - zadání viz IS (Hodnocení manažerských funkcí, medailonek rodinného podniku XY, návrhy a doporučení pro zlepšení efektivity vybrané manažerské funkce. Vyhledat českou rodinnou firmu). Postup: • Vyhledat malý a střední /rodinný podnik. • Vyhodnotit prostřednictvím osobního rozhovoru vitalitu oblasti managementu dle níže uvedeného textu. Výstupy zapracovat do textu dotazníku. • Navrhnou kroky vedoucí ke zlepšení v oblasti, ve které byly shledány nějaké nedostatky. Vlastní návrh a doporučení na cca 3 normostrany word dokumentu. ZKOUŠKA - ÚSTNÍ: relevantní diskuse nad seminární prací. Zkouška bude možná pouze až po udělení zápočtu, který bude zapsán v poznámkouvém bloku studenta. Kombinované studium: Udělení zápočtu je vázáno na splnění povinnosti aktivní docházky v min. rozsahu 50 % na řízených konzultací (avšak nikoli jen pouhá prezence, ale aktivní podílení se na průběhu výuky, diskutování, interakce, argumentace).
