- Cíle předmětu
- The Business Model is a creative subject based on the interconnection of knowledge and abilities gained through the study of key subjects of this Bachelor Program. The aim is to bring students to the knowledge that a good Business Plan is the foundation of any long-term successful business and as such represents by far the most effective way to reduce business risk while its adequate presentation can lead to the acquisition of external financial resources, for realization. During the course, successful and functional start-ups will be presented, emphasis will be placed on the practical application of the acquired knowledge, the creation of a business plan in a coherent structure.

- Learning Outcomes Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to: Characterize the entrepreneurial environment in the Czech Republic and explain the options for public support of entrepreneurship, especially for SMEs. Describe and distinguish the key components of a business plan – strategic, marketing, sales, organizational, human resources, technological, financial, and risk-related aspects. Explain the importance of business planning in reducing risks and attracting investors. Clarify the methods used for business environment analysis (SWOT, PESTEL, Porter’s Five Forces) and how to apply them in strategic planning. Describe the process of presenting a business idea, including the structure of a pitch deck and the principles of persuasive communication and storytelling. Professional Skills By the end of the course, the student will be able to: Identify a business opportunity based on market needs analysis and validate it. Design and develop a complete business plan, including appendices and financial calculations. Formulate a marketing, sales, and organizational strategy appropriate to the chosen business model. Create a financial plan, including budget, cash flow projections, and return-on-investment analysis. Assess business risks and propose appropriate mitigation strategies. Deliverable: Structured section of the business plan: Strategic analysis + vision, mission, goals, values. 3. Exercise 3: Marketing and Sales Plan. Deliverable: Business plan chapter: Marketing and Sales Plan. 4. Exercise 4: Organization, HR, and Technology. Deliverable: Business plan chapters: Organizational Plan + IS/IT Solutions + HR Strategy. 5. Exercise 5: Financial Planning and Risk Management. Deliverable: Business plan chapters: Financial Plan + Risk Management. 6. Exercise 6: Business Plan Presentation – Preparing for Pitch Day. Deliverable: Pitch deck in PDF + PowerPoint format. Simulated investor presentation (trial run). Final submission of the business plan in the prescribed structure.

- Lectures The lectures are designed as interactive and application-oriented blocks that combine explanations of theoretical concepts with the analysis of real-world cases, practical tools, and guided development of a business plan. The teaching emphasizes the integration of theory and practice, fostering entrepreneurship and innovative thinking. The following methods are used: Interactive Lectures with Student Engagement, Case Study Analysis and Best Practices, Use of Digital Tools and Online Platforms, Mini Assignments During the Lecture, Reflection and Sharing of Business Plan Development Processes. Integration with Project Output Seminars – Application of Knowledge and Skills Development The seminars are focused on the practical application of knowledge gained in lectures, development of entrepreneurial mindset, teamwork, critical and economic thinking, and the step-by-step creation of a business plan that will be presented on “Pitch Day.” The following methods are used: Project-Based Learning – Business Plan Development, Work with Case Studies and Benchmarking, Team Collaboration and Business Simulation, Training Presentation and Communication Skills, Peer Review and Feedback, Support for Digital Tools Usage. Independent Work and Homework. After each seminar, students are assigned homework that follows up on the topic (e.g., preparing the marketing section of the plan). These tasks contribute to the final business plan – the instructor monitors and comments on progress. Homework may include market research, survey creation, or identifying best practices. Final Deliverables. A complete business plan in the required structure (mandatory output). A pitch deck presentation for investors – prepared and defended on the so-called “Pitch Day.”
- Metody hodnocení
- The course is completed by seminar paper of business plan + oral exam ( presentation) Mastering of BM course: "A,B,C,D,E,F,-" All students: Seminar paper + presentation of Business plan. Possible teamwork of 2-3 students. Students will present the business plan on D-Day. Presentation of the full time study will take place on the so-called Day D, which will be held in early May. This presentation will no longer be a presentation of the entire business plan, but it will be ready for about 10 minutes to convince a potential investor to invest.
