Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to acquire the essence and relationships of the strategic management of the company in the context of the company management system, to clarify the basic functional relations between business management and strategic management, to explain the necessary necessity and benefits of strategic management of the enterprise, to explain importance and to apply strategic micro and macro- understanding the links between key and functional business strategies, build a plan to implement and update a business strategy. Strategic business management will be seen as a complex management discipline. Strategic management is art, science and skill in formulation, a complex decision making, and subsequent fulfillment of everything that will enable the enterprise to achieve the intended goals, including a sense of direction change.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion, students should be able to:
- understand basic concepts (strategy, strategic analysis, PEST analysis, competitive advantage, strategy execution)
- use different methods and procedures for strategic analysis,
- understand the process of creating a strategy - formulate a business strategy

Teaching methods
The lessons will have a lecturing part (theory, new knowledge including practical examples) and a practical part. The former will be focused either on reading economical/business articles and their brief interpretation in order to ensure understanding the expert text, it’s interpretation and possibly to defend the standpoint, the latter will be designed as a preparation of the team presentation project. Teaching in part-time study form will be held as guided consultations, where the previous reading is expected. A truncated presentation of the topic will be followed by the interactive discussion and consultation of the studied topics. In both full and part-time study forms each topic will be mostly presented (in detailed or condensed form – according to the type of study) in PPT presentations, followed by an interactive discussion.
Teaching in the distance form of study will be realized in the form of tutorials, continuous consultation and control of the fulfillment of ongoing tasks, tests.
Assessment methods
The subject is completed by gaining a credit and passing an examination. CONDITIONS to get CREDIT for both full and part-time study form: Active participation in the lectures and in the seminars. Team case study elaboration & it’s active professional presentation (topics of case study must be agreed with lecturer at the beginning of semester). Min 10 pages. !!! Deadline for sending your seminar work to me: one week before passing exam !!! Completion CONDITIONS to pass the EXAM for both full and part-time study form: Knowledge test. 5 questions. To pass the examination student must achieve at least 50% correct answers).
Completion conditions for ISP students are following: 1. to pass the exam test under the above mentioned conditions 2. to write a seminar work.
Distance learning: The conditions for completing the course are as follows: 1. passing the exam test 2. Credit is tied to participation in tutorials (but not only attendance, but active participation in tutorial, discussion, interaction, argumentation) and defending the seminar work.
Students of all forms of teaching (full-time, part-time, distance): late attendance during classes will not be accepted, and if classes are conducted through Microsoft Teams, it is expected that the camera and microphone will be turned on when prompted by a tutor.

Course objectives
The aim of the subject is to acquire the essence and relationships of the strategic management of the company in the context of the company management system, to clarify the basic functional relations between business management and strategic management, to explain the necessary necessity and benefits of strategic management of the enterprise, to explain importance and to apply strategic micro and macro- understanding the links between key and functional business strategies, build a plan to implement and update a business strategy. Strategic business management will be seen as a complex management discipline. Strategic management is art, science and skill in formulation, a complex decision making, and subsequent fulfillment of everything that will enable the enterprise to achieve the intended goals, including a sense of direction change.

Upon successful completion, students should be able to:

Teaching methods
The lessons will have a lecturing part (theory, new knowledge including practical examples) and a practical part. The former will be focused either on reading economical/business articles and their brief interpretation in order to ensure understanding the expert text, it’s interpretation and possibly to defend the standpoint, the latter will be designed as a preparation of the team presentation project. Teaching in part-time study form will be held as guided consultations, where the previous reading is expected. A truncated presentation of the topic will be followed by the interactive discussion and consultation of the studied topics. In both full and part-time study forms each topic will be mostly presented (in detailed or condensed form – according to the type of study) in PPT presentations, followed by an interactive discussion.
Teaching in the distance form of study will be realized in the form of tutorials, continuous consultation and control of the fulfillment of ongoing tasks, tests.
Assessment methods
The subject is completed by gaining a credit and passing an examination. CONDITIONS to get CREDIT for both full and part-time study form: Active participation in the lectures. Compulsory seminar participation is 75% in full-time study, compulsory tutorial participation is 50% in part-time study. Team case study elaboration & it’s active professional presentation (topics of case study must be agreed with lecturer at the beginning of semester). Min 10 pages. !!! Deadline for sending your seminar work to me: one week before passing exam !!! Completion CONDITIONS to pass the EXAM for both full and part-time study form: Knowledge test. 5 questions. To pass the examination student must achieve at least 50% correct answers).
Completion conditions for ISP students are following: 1. to pass the exam test under the above mentioned conditions 2. to write a seminar work.
Distance learning: The conditions for completing the course are as follows: 1. passing the exam test 2. Credit is tied to participation in tutorials (but not only attendance, but active participation in tutorial, discussion, interaction, argumentation) and defending the seminar work.
Students of all forms of teaching (full-time, part-time, distance): late attendance during classes will not be accepted, and if classes are conducted through Microsoft Teams, it is expected that the camera and microphone will be turned on when prompted by a tutor.

Course objectives
Strategic business management will be seen as a complex management discipline. Strategic management is art, science and skill in formulation, complex decision making, and subsequent fulfillment of everything that will enable the enterprise to achieve the intended goals, including a sense of direction change. Objective of the course in terms of learning outcomes and competences The aim of the subject is to acquire the essence and relationships of the strategic management of the company in the context of the company management system, to clarify the basic functional relations between business management and strategic management, to explain the necessary necessity and benefits of strategic management of the enterprise, to explain importance and to apply strategic micro and macro- understand the links between key and functional business strategies, build a plan to implement and update a business strategy.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion, students should be able to:
- understand basic concepts (strategy, strategic analysis, PEST analysis, competitive advantage, strategy execution)
- use different methods and procedures for strategic analysis,
- understand the process of creating a strategy - formulate a business strategy

Teaching methods
The lessons will have a lecturing part (theory, new knowledge including practical examples) and a practical part. That will be focused either on reading economical/business articles and their brief interpretation to ensure understanding the expert text, it’s interpretation and possibly to defend the standpoint, or part of the lessons may be also designed as a preparation of the team presentation project, and then on presentation of teams. Teaching in part-time study form will be held as guided consultations, where the previous reading is expected. A truncated presentation of the topic will be followed by the interactive discussion and consultation of the studied topics. In both full and part-time study forms each topic will be mostly presented (in detailed or condensed form – according to the type of study) in PPT presentations, followed by an interactive discussion.
Assessment methods
exam written, oral Compulsory student participation in exercises, or. public consultation - min. 75% in full-time study and min. 50% in the combined form of study.
Credit - active professional work in seminars, attendance, report, according to a subproject agreement and entering teacher.
Examination - written test (20 core topics,to pass the examination student must achieve at least 50% correct answers).
Completion conditions for ISP students are following: 1. to pass an exam test under the above mentioned conditions 2. to write a seminar work - a case study concerning the business strategy of the selected business (15 pages)

The objective of course is to provide students with knowledge of business strategy formulation and implementation and basic tools of strategic analysis. Students get the knowledge of the potential sources of competitive advantage and business strategy formulation. They get the overview of strategy implementation tools, strategic plan creation and strategic management. The objectives of course are also valid for distance learning.

Rozsah povinné účasti ve výuce: Minimální povinná účast na cvičení v prezenční formě studia je 75 %, na řízených skupinových konzultacích v kombinované formě studia 50 %. Studentům, kteří nesplní povinný rozsah účasti, mohou být v průběhu semestru zadány dodatečné studijní povinnosti (v míře, která umožní prokázat studijní výsledky a získané kompetence nezbytné pro úspěšné zakončení předmětu).

Předmět je zakončen zápočtem a zkouškou. Zápočet se skládá z řešení případových studií. Zkouška spočívá ve vypracování seminární práce a její obhajoby. Course objectives (in Czech)
Cílem předmětu je seznámit studenty s postupem formulace a implementace strategie podniku a se základními nástroji strategické analýzy. Studenti získají poznatky o potenciálních zdrojích konkurenční výhody a formulaci strategie podniku. Seznámí se s nástroji implementace strategie, s tvorbou strategického plánu a se strategickým managementem. Cíle předmětu platí i pro kombinované studium.

  • 1. Strategie, strategický management – pojetí a význam. Proces tvorby strategie. Formulace strategie, vize, mise, poslání, strategické cíle. 2. Strategická analýza: externí analýza. 3. Strategická analýza: interní analýza. 4. Typy strategií. 5. Strategie na úrovni podniku, strategie na úrovni podnikatelských jednotek. 6. Volba, implementace a hodnocení strategie. 7. Komplexní nástroje implementace strategie – BSC, EFQM. 8. Strategický plán. 9. Organizace, volba správné organizační struktury. 10. Strategické řízení lidských zdrojů. 11. Marketingové strategie. 12. Strategické řízení ve specifických podmínkách.

Teaching methods (in Czech)
Výuka probíhá formou přednášek a cvičení v prezenční formě studia a formou řízených skupinových konzultací v kombinované formě studia. Rozsah povinné účasti ve výuce: Minimální povinná účast na cvičení v prezenční formě studia je 75 %, na řízených skupinových konzultacích v kombinované formě studia 50 %. Studentům, kteří nesplní povinný rozsah účasti, mohou být v průběhu semestru zadány dodatečné studijní povinnosti (v míře, která umožní prokázat studijní výsledky a získané kompetence nezbytné pro úspěšné zakončení předmětu).
Assessment methods (in Czech)
Předmět je zakončen zápočtem a zkouškou. Zápočet se skládá z řešení případových studií. Zkouška spočívá ve vypracování seminární práce a její obhajoby.
