Course objectives
The Study discipline Role Conflict in communication is conceived as theoretical-practical. Students gain the necessary theoretical background knowledge in the field of interpersonal communication, which they learn successfully in practice in solving model situations. At the end of this course the student will be able to understand and explain the following issues and challenges: • explain the causes of conflict • propose ways to resolve conflict situations and methods to avoid such situations, • analyze various aspects of conflicts between individuals and between groups, • be able to identify the most common sources of conflict, • the creation of both short as well as long-term strategies of conflict management and will be able conflict situations, especially in everyday communication (but also in other situations).
Syllabus
  • 1. Introduction to interpersonal communication. Patterns of human communication. Communication strategies and interpersonal relationships as a framework. Principles of interpersonal communication. 2. The basic typology of conflicts (intrapsychic, interpersonal, group and intergroup etc.). Managing interpersonal conflict. Content and interpersonal conflict. Principles of conflict. 3. The role of personality conflicts, stress, interpersonal relationships and their incompatibility roles. 4. Strategy and tactics of conflict resolution. Conflict management, causes and consequences of mismanagement (inner tension, anxiety, psychosomatic diseases etc.). 5. Constructive dialogue in practice. Verbal negotiations and drafting page. Conflict and Cooperation. 6. Conflicts in the workplace. Modeling and conflict resolution options. Conflict prevention.

Teaching methods
Teaching methods: a lecture, an exercise. The subject extension: 1/1 lesson per week. The extension of obligatory presence: Minimal obligatory presence at exercises in a daily attendance - 75%.
Assessment methods
Methods of valuations: inclusion (3 credits) The requirements of the inclusion awarding - creation, presentation and vindication os seminary elaborate (3-4 pages), which will proove the ability of the application of gained knowledges how to solve conflict situations.
