- A prerequisite for successful study is prior elementary knowledge of business management, psychology and sociology of work.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide students with a comprehensive and systematic understanding of human resource management as a key component of the strategic management of an organization. Students will gain knowledge of the basic principles and modern approaches to personnel work and acquire the skills necessary for their practical application.
The course will enable students to understand the link between corporate strategy and personnel policy, to become familiar with tools for recruitment, selection, evaluation and motivation of employees, to analyze and design systems of education, development and talent management, to develop the ability to resolve conflicts and support effective communication in the organization, to assess the importance of corporate culture, diversity, ethics and social responsibility in human resource management, to apply modern technologies, digitalization and analytical tools when working with human resources, to understand the role of human resource management in sustainable business, including ESG aspects and the readiness of organizations to use renewable resources. - Learning outcomes
- After successfully completing the course, the student will have the following professional knowledge:
• Understand the role and importance of human resource management in corporate management and the relationship between organizational and individual behavior.
• Explain the differences between management and leadership and assess their impact on employee motivation.
• Analyze the link between HR strategy and the company's business plan.
• Design recruitment and selection procedures using modern approaches and employer branding.
• Evaluate performance management systems and design an appropriate remuneration and benefits model for various job positions.
• Assess the importance of education, development and talent management and apply them in the design of a development program.
• Identify and resolve conflict situations in the workplace using the principles of effective communication.
• Characterize various organizational processes and structures and assess their impact on human resource management.
• Apply knowledge of human resource management to examples from the practice of Czech companies.
• Develop teamwork, communication and presentation skills through solving case studies and projects. - Syllabus

Exercises - solving case studies, can also be applied to companies where students are employed
1. Definition and role of HR, organizational behavior x individual behavior. Analysis of annual reports of selected companies (e.g. Škoda Auto, ČEZ): how they present their HR strategies. Discussion: the difference between declared corporate culture and actual employee behavior (students will bring their own experiences).
2. Management x leadership, motivation. Case study: comparison of leadership style in companies such as Alza and Kooperativa. Mini-workshop: compiling a motivation package for employees of a start-up vs. corporation.
3. HR and business plan, recruitment and selection. Analysis of career websites (e.g. T-Mobile, Seznam.cz, Deloitte): how they communicate employer branding. Task: design an advertisement for a specific job position (junior, specialist, manager) with regard to the target group.
4. Performance management, remuneration and benefits. Examples of evaluation systems in publicly available company materials (e.g. ČSOB, Česká spořitelna). Task: compile a KPI model for a salesperson and a proposal for a remuneration system.
5. Education and development, talent management. Analysis of corporate academies and e-learning platforms (e.g. ČEZ Akademie, Škoda DigiLab). Task: to design a short development program for new employees in a selected company.
6. Communication, conflicts, organizational processes. Analysis of media cases of conflicts in the workplace (e.g. Amazon, Czech call center). Role-play: model conflict situation and its resolution. Discussion: how companies (e.g. Zásilkovna) adapt organizational structure during rapid growth. - Literature

- Teaching methods
- Teaching takes place in the form of lectures and exercises; face-to-face form of study and guided group consultations; combined form of study. The minimum mandatory participation in exercises in the face-to-face form of study is 75%, in guided group consultations; combined form of study 50%. Students who do not meet the mandatory scope of participation may be assigned additional study obligations during the semester (to the extent that it is possible to prove the study results and acquired competences necessary for the successful completion of the subject).
If contact teaching and consultation in the personal presence of the student in the face-to-face and combined form of study becomes impossible, the teaching is replaced by a distance form of study and self-study.
Information for ISP students: participation of students with an individual study plan is welcome both in exercises and lectures, or in the online environment.
Lectures. Presentation of theoretical foundations of human resource management, supplemented with practical examples from Czech companies. Discussion on selected topics, comparison of different approaches and their application in practice. Visualization of models, schemes and management procedures. Exercises - application of knowledge, development of skills. Solution of case studies based on the practice of Czech companies. Analysis of annual reports, career websites and HR policies of specific companies. Teamwork on the design of HR procedures (recruitment, motivation, remuneration, development, conflict resolution). Role-playing and simulation of real situations (e.g. job interview, conflict resolution). Modern methods (supported by technologies). Use of online tools (MS Teams,) for interactive student engagement. Digital collaborative environment (Miro, Padlet) for creating HR concepts and visualization of outputs. Work with databases and tools supporting HR decision-making (e.g. online salary benchmarking, HR analytics). E-learning modules and self-assessment tests for continuous reflection of knowledge. - Assessment methods
- Continuous assessment of activities within the exercise. During the semester, the student will take 6 continuous electronic tests, the dates of access will be published in MS Teams. To pass each test, at least 55% of correct answers are required.
Final assessment - oral exam/electronic test. During the course of studying the subject and in connection with the knowledge acquired in the field of business management, the student will prepare a semester paper on selected topics in the range of 5 to 6 pages, as a condition for awarding credit and participation in the exam. The prepared studies must be submitted in written form: a) full-time students by the date specified by the teacher, b) combined study students one week before the expected exam date, c) students with an individual study plan as agreed with the teacher.
The exam will be conducted in the form of an electronic test of professional knowledge. To pass the exam, at least 55% of correct answers are required.
A full-time student is required to meet the mandatory 75% attendance requirement for contact classes, i.e. everything except lectures. 50% attendance requirement for guided group consultations in the combined form of study. Students who do not meet the mandatory attendance requirement may be assigned additional study obligations during the semester and submit these to the Submission Office. - Language of instruction

A precondition for successful studio's previous elementary knowledge of business management, psychology and sociology of work.
Based on the acquired problem student will know the terminology personnel management, able to explain the content of the field, manages the processes of personnel management.
The crucial step in meeting the objectives of the course of study students do that will want to work independently throughout the study. It needed extensive individual preparation.
